Summary: We were greeted on arrival by the host and she showed us around the house. She seemed very nice and offered to share some recommendations for activities in the area.However , it was at this point we realised that the host and her family live upstairs with windows overlooking the garden and pool. I think this should have been made clearer in the listing.As nice as the host and her family seem to be, I still felt uncomfortable using the outside facilities knowing that they can see you from their windows above.The house itself is spacious and at first glance , clean and tidy however, we found the oven dirty and cleaned the oven shelves ourselves before using the oven once.Our room (out of the three bedrooms) had been chosen by the host and the bed made ready. This room had damp on the walls with the wall paper peeling off above the window. There was also a damp smell which transferred to our clothes.The owners park their cars on the drive which directly faces the living area, not great as I am an early riser and found that the room was lit up by the hosts headlights when they leave for work in the morning.Regrettably, we did not enjoy our stay in Bergerac and cut our holiday short for the reasons I have mentioned above.I hasten to add (as I’ve said before) the host was very nice, polite and willing to communicate on request and so this review is purely an honest account of our experience in the house and no reflection on the host and her family.
