Ten external stone steps lead up to the first floor entrance which opens into the attractive living and dining space with restored oak beams and log burner set within the inglenook, such a cosy setting for the winter months. Take a seat at the window and enjoy the spectacular far-reaching views. A comfortable L-shaped sofa is set in front of the fire with a large Smart TV and an assortment of books and games for your entertainment. The well-equipped kitchen is set down 4 steps from the living room and leads out to a raised terrace with bistro table and chairs looking out across open countryside. Internal stairs lead downstairs to two stylishly furnished bedrooms with double beds and a small shower room. To the front of the cottage is seating to sit and enjoy your morning cuppa while watching the village come to life.
Carlton-in-Coverdale is one of the Yorkshire Dales best kept secrets. From its elevated position it looks out across the fields towards the hills beyond, the River Cover running through the valley below. Carlton sits beneath Roova Crags to the south and Penhill to the north.

The bustling market town of Leyburn (6 miles), with an array of restaurants, cafés, pubs and two supermarkets. The village of Middleham, 4 miles, also boasts several pubs, restaurants and a well-stocked local shop. Renowned for its famous racing stables, ’The Gallops’, and its Norman castle which dates back to 1190. Head further up into Wensleydale to the market town of Hawes calling en-route to take in the spectacular site of Aysgarth Falls. For the more active, the local roads are excellent for the keen cyclist forming part of the annual Tour de Yorkshire – with many routes of different levels of challenge cutting through the beautiful Yorkshire Dales villages and countryside.
