Boasting a large garden, you are next to a working farm and here you can immerse yourself in the surrounding countryside as well as exploring the nearby villages and towns which are steeped in history. You are ideally positioned on the edge of the Northumberland National Park as well as being only a 20 minute drive away from an Area of Natural Beauty – the North Pennines.
This is a beautiful stone detached cottage, with a lawned garden, bursting with flowers in the summer as well as fresh fruit growing on the trees and on the raspberry bushes which you can help yourself to. There is seating area on the decking, perfect for basking in the sun, due to the angle of the garden you can enjoy the sun’s rays from dusk to dawn. Stepping inside you have a cosy and inviting lounge which is open plan with the dining area. The separate kitchen has a lovely country feel and is equipped perfectly for rustling up all of your favourite meals. The bathroom is also on the ground floor with a shower over the bath. This cottage is blessed with a ground floor single bedroom, perfect for guests who are looking for ground floor facilities. Upstairs on the first floor there are a further two bedrooms, the master king bedroom which has its own en suite shower as well as a twin bedroom.
You are only around a mile away from the nearest pub which serves fabulous food, perfect after a busy day exploring. There are walks through the neighbouring farm along public footpaths leading you out into the stunning countryside which is bursting with wildlife. Keepershield is perfectly located for guests wanting to explore the history and the scenery of Northumberland. It is also well situated for those wishing to visit Kielder Forest and gaze at the stars from the observatory in Wark being 4 miles down the road at Battlesteads. You are also situated about 2 miles from the Chester’s Roman Fort and Hadrian’s Wall. Housestead’s and the Sill are just under 10 miles away. The city of Newcastle is also less than a 30 minute drive, which is a fabulous city for a day out, it is an eclectic blend of both the old and new. The area boasts many well-established walkers paths leading to Humshaugh and Hadrian’s Wall and the adjacent Northumberland National Park.
