Come stay 30 days at this adorable historic 1920s home in Bend. This home is listed on the Old Bend historic register. This craftsman style home is a "Workingman's Foursquare." There are only a handful of the Workingman Foursquare designed homes in Deschutes County. The first verified occupant of this home was an employee at Brooks Scanlon Lumber Company which was located where the Old Mill District is now found.
This one bedroom, one bath single level home is located in the heart of downtown Bend. Put on your walking shoes and walk right out your front door to the Market of Choice grocery store and the Box Factory. Both are just a block away. Food carts, restaurants, and shopping are all right there too.
Brooks Cottage has a gas fireplace and a mini split for A/C to keep you comfortable year around. The bedroom features a king bed with ensuite bathroom. Two desks are provided for remote working while you are here. One is located in the bedroom and one in the living room. There is a smart TV which provides you cable TV or the ability to stream movies. The updated kitchen is fully equipped with all that you will need. There is seating for four at the oversized table as it converts from a bar style eating space to a full sized table.
Brooks Cottage has a little front covered porch that looks out onto Colorado Ave. You will hear some road noise but the traffic speed is slow on this stretch. The back yard has a little patio with an outdoor dining table and BBQ. There is a gravel parking area for this home that can be accessed from the back alley. You can lock up all of your gear in the back shed just off the patio. This cottage is pet friendly, you are welcome to bring your pet but the yard is not fully fenced.
If you prefer to get out of town and into nature, there are endless hiking and mountain bike trails just minutes from town. The spectacular Cascade Mountains and Mt Bachelor Ski Resort are an easy 20 minute drive providing endless opportunities for outdoor adventures.
