Welcome to Blandings Cottage on beautiful Lake Cecebe! We are located on a quiet road with 400 feet of water frontage. Guests will stay in our private boathouse living quarters, with two bedrooms (new queen-sized mattresses), a well-equipped kitchen and full bathroom. Large picture windows in the living/dining room give an expansive view the lake. A private sand beach next to the house is a perfect place for children to wade or play in the sand. There is plenty of room on the dock to sit and enjoy the view, go fishing or park a boat. Our property is well cared for, with gardens and lawns kept in top condition. The owner lives about 300 feet away in the main cottage, and is happy to help with anything guests need.
Guests will also have access to the rest of our property, Midlothian Forest, which is a 600-acre private nature reserve. Visitors to our property will find a healthy managed forest with plenty of wildlife. Bears, wolves, deer, moose, otters, turkeys and bald eagles are just a few of the animals that can been seen here. Our extensive private trail network (over 16 km) gives access to a variety of forest types and ages, including some very scenic old-growth areas. You will also find numerous waterfalls, high rocks, a quiet private lake and a lookout that offers a great view for miles.

-Equipped with automatic backup generator, so no power outages will disrupt your stay!
-Water is from a deep rock-drilled well with excellent flow. It is not treated like city water, so it is recommended to be used for washing purposes only. We supply several liters of clean water for drinking, tooth brushing, washing food, and so on.
-Internet is not provided, however there is quite a strong signal from the communications tower across the lake- you will need to use a mobile hotspot on your phone. Our television is equipped with a DVD/ Blu-Ray player and Google Chromecast, which can be used with the mobile hotspot on your phone.
-Guests will need to bring their own bedding, linens, towels, toiletries, etc.

*Guests will need to check in with the owner at time of arrival (please bring identification) and sign our property rental agreement (attached on this website).

Guests need to be responsible for their own safety while on the property, especially around water or while hiking in natural areas. Children especially must be supervised at all times! Children should wear floatation devices near all bodies of water.
This is a quiet natural area. Please keep loud noise to a minimum (especially outdoor stereos/music). Our neighbours and wildlife will appreciate it!
Due to health/allergy concerns for some of our guests, smoking/vaping and pets are not permitted.
Please respect our septic system. ONLY toilet paper and human waste may be flushed, NOTHING else. Thanks in advance!
Please keep all food waste indoors and garbage in the animal-proof bins. There are some pesky and creative animals around here!
Guests are welcome to go hiking at their own risk on our private trails. Due to liability concerns, biking and jogging need to be done on public roads. There are lots of scenic, quiet public roads in the area!
