North East, the guesthouse is just behind the Central Mall in Zoo Road & very close to Assam Zoo & market places like Ganeshguri, Dispur, Chandmari as well as hospitals like Down Town, Dispur Hospital etc. The guesthouse is located at a prime location in Guwahati with numerous restaurants.
The Shivam guest house is located at one of the quietest zones in Guwahati. Although, all the market areas and bus and auto stands are at less than half km proximity, you might sometimes find it difficult to locate. But hey, if you're looking for a quiet time, you've to find your way to reach that, and it will never be at a very popular place. Popular places are generally crowded and noisy.
Now, don't book the guesthouse if you want to stay at a crowded and a easily locatable area. Also, don't book it if you're looking for a hotel like atmosphere. This will be your home away from home, not a hotel room.
To order a cab or food, do take help of the hosts or the caretaker.
There are 3 rooms in the house for guests. 2 family rooms, out of which one room has an attached balcony and 1 small room for single guest. All the rooms have AC, but the house can be booked at a reduced price if you don't want AC. Please write to us before booking if you're looking to book the house without AC.
The guesthouse is sunny & family-friendly. Rooms are spacious and done up in traditional wood decor.
Both the family bedrooms have single king size wooden beds each. The small room for single guest has a single bed. Every bedroom has a cupboard, chairs or sofas and other essentials like, table lamp, multiple plug points, water bottle etc. You'll also get free WiFi if it is available.
You can also use the living room for reading or just for hanging out. There is a caretaker present in the building who can help you with preparing tea and snacks.
This is one of the cleanest guesthouses in Guwahati and we are looking for travelers to have a quiet time before they embark on their journey.
The bathrooms have western toilets, shower and equipped with other essentials. There are geysers installed in all the bathrooms.

The house has lots of trees and gardens for yoga or walking and a small farm. You'll always hear the chirping of birds who reside in varieties of local foliage of the nearby greens.
The stay at Shivam guesthouse will definitely be a stress-reliever.
TAKING HELP

Our check in time is between 12 PM and 9 PM. If you happened to reach early or late evening, please message us before booking. We sometimes accommodate a guest's request depending on the availability of our caretaker or the hosts.
Our check out time is 11 AM. But if your flight is late or if you want to check out bit late, please message your request before booking. If there are no guests on the day of your check-out , we might accommodate your request. Sometimes, even if you have to check out from the room, you may use the living room. But please message us before booking to know about the situations.
Sometimes there might be a bad day when the WiFi is down. In most of the cases, it generally takes a day or 2 to revive. We are sorry in advance for the inconvenience.
Do talk with the caretaker or the hosts for any help during your stay - like using the electronic devices and utensils in the kitchen, visiting the off-beat places in an around including the hill top or for preparing your own breakfast or food etc.
Guests will have access to the kitchen, balcony, terrace, gardens, living room couches, and other areas of the building. A caretaker is present to take care of the needs of the guests.
For using the kitchen and kitchen amenities for cooking, Rs 150 will be charged for every meal. Guests have to get their own food items. For heating up or using the refrigerator to store food, there's no charge. Please keep the house and kitchen clean after you've prepared your food.
The guesthouse doesn't have room service.
There is 24 hrs power backup and running water in the bathrooms.
Breakfast is complimentary.
The guests have to prepare their own breakfast or can take help of the caretaker. There are eggs, bread, butter, jam, muesli or cornflakes, milk, tea or coffee kept in the fridge and kitchen.
Please keep the house and kitchen clean after you've prepared your food.
Lunch and dinner are sometimes provided at the guesthouse, although guests can bring their food from outside and utilise the fridge, electric heater, rice cooker and other amenities of the kitchen for Rs 150 only for every meal every time the kitchen is used for cooking.
For any additional help like ordering food from outside or booking a cab, please take help from the caretaker or hosts of the house. You might sometimes find it difficult to share your location with others. And please don't always rely on the Maps and Smart Phone Directions.
