Positive: It felt as though we were among the very first guests to stay in this house, and our impressions were quite mixed. The house itself is lovely: everything is new, the surroundings are peaceful and beautiful, and the place feels very cosy. We especially enjoyed the veranda, the neighbourhood cats visiting in the evenings, and one night we even saw a large, beautiful fox in the garden. However, it also felt as though the house had only just been prepared for guests and some basic practical details had not yet been considered. We had a strong impression that the bed linen and towels were brand new and had been used straight from the shop without being washed first. New bed linen and towels really should always be washed before being used by guests. The kitchen was also very poorly equipped for a family of four. There was only one small saucepan, one frying pan and just one enormous kitchen knife. What was especially strange was that there was no spatula or any other utensil for frying. This is such a basic kitchen item that we really did not expect it to be missing. We ended up having to use a fork while cooking and constantly tried to be very careful not to scratch the new frying pan. All the plates still had partially removed shop stickers on the back. It gave the impression that the dishes had not been properly washed before being put away — if they had been washed and the stickers soaked, they would probably have come off easily. It was another small detail that made the house feel not quite ready for guests. There were also quite a few dead flies on the floor near the windows, although the rest of the house was clean. The bathroom mirror also seemed rather loosely attached to the wall and moved away from the wall quite easily when touched from underneath, which felt a little unsafe. We stayed only two nights and arrived quite late, so we did not contact the host about every issue.
