After the damage from Hurricane Florence we decided to tear down the original “Above It All” and build back a larger, improved version of our Beach House. This is all brand new construction completed in 2020 that retains some of the feel of the original while making huge overall improvements.
Being so high up we knew it would be important to have an elevator. Our elevator is rated for passengers and not simply a cargo lift. It traveles from the ground level to the first floor of the house. Access to the second floor is only by way of the stairs inside, or take the more adventurous spiral staircase between the decks. We did make certain to have a master bedroom on each floor and all critical functions of the house, such as the kitchen, living room, laundry, etc. would be located on the first floor for those guest who might not be able to climb the stairs.
This newly built, modern, beach house is in a residential neighborhood in northern Surf City, near North Topsail Beach. The home is one-and-one-half (1½) blocks from the beach and just one-half (½) block from one of Surf City's scenic canals, lined with boats and large homes. It is 2 miles from the shopping/restaurant center of the island.
The two-level “Carolina Cape Cod” style home has a large, spacious living/dining room. A big kitchen opens to it. We added a little extra height to the floor with 9’ ceilings for a more open feel. The kitchen has been upgraded with quartz countertops, white cabinets and a powerful gas convection range with five burners.
There are four bedrooms, including a large master with king bed, and bunkhouse room that features a twin over full bunk bed on the first floor. The second floor has a queen size bed in the back bedroom and a Huge Grand Master Suite in the front. With the Queen Sleeper sofa in the Grand Master Suite we have actual beds for 11 people. We also do have a queen inflatable mattress available and the large sectional in the living room can be used for a little extra sleeping space as needed. We do provide extra linens should you need them during your stay. We even added a coffee station, wet bar upstairs, complete with mini fridge and microwave so you don’t have to go down to the kitchen if you don’t want to.
Of course we have to mention the decks and balconies!!! Huge Double Decker Decks off the front of the house with amazing views. Clear views of the ocean on one side, the canals on the other, and spectacular sunsets off the front. You can even see the new Surf City High-rise Bridge! The first floor Master and the second floor Queen room also have private balconies perfect for coffee in the morning sun. The Grand Master Suite has a set of double French doors that open out onto the upper sun deck!
LINENS ARE PROVIDED FOR BEDDING AND BATHING!
Modern coastal-style furniture, seascape paintings/prints and other island art decorate the home. (No smoking, please.)
We provide our guests a few extras to make their stay a little more enjoyable. Upon arrival you will have a starting supply of paper towels and toilet paper. No need to run out to the store right away. You will still need to provide your own for the remainder of the stay but this way you can hit the beach right away.
We will also be providing some of the other basic items that you might need during your stay such as Laundry Detergent, Dish Soap, Etc. Feel free to use them as we know that having to remember to bring all of the little item can be a hassle and we want to make sure that your time at "Above It All" is relaxing. You really only need to provide your own if you have a preferred brand.

We simply tried to think of what we would want available in a rental and tried to provide that for you.
We will also be providing complimentary access to our beach equipment closet under the house. Inside you will find Beach Chairs, Umbrellas, a beach wagon, and other items for use on the beach. Beach Towels are also available in the linen closet located in the upstairs hall bathroom. We hope you enjoy use of these items during your stay.
One great tip on how you can make your holiday feeling at "Above It All" last a little longer: On your last night go ahead and throw in a little laundry. You can go home with clean clothes and don't have to worry about it once you arrive back home!
