The town of "Laroque des Albères" is located about 10 km from the Spanish border.
You can of course reach LdA by car, or it would also be possible to arrive by plane. There are various airlines - regular and low-cost airlines - that take off to Girona -GRO- (Gerona in Spanish) on the Costa Brava (Spain).
Airplanes from Germany fly, for example, from Hamburg, Hanover, Düsseldorf, Frankfurt-Hahn, Frankfurt am Main, Nuremberg, Stuttgart, Karlsruhe/Baden-Baden and Memmingen. From Girona it takes a little over an hour to get to the holiday home in a rental car.
Laroque des Albéres is a small, cozy town - at the foot of the Pyrenees. Romantic streets, shops, restaurants and cafés invite you to linger.
The holiday home is located about 2 km outside the center of LdA, embedded on a 10,000 sqm natural property on different levels with trees and bushes. Relaxation is very important here.
The house and pool were newly renovated in 2022/23. Both offer a lot of space and are ideal for 1-2 families. From the house you have a direct view of the spacious garden with lots of greenery, with the Pyrenees visible in the background.
On the ground floor of the house there is a large living/dining room with a modern, open kitchen as well as three bedrooms - for a total of 6 people - and two bathrooms with shower/sink/toilet.
The upper floor can be reached via a staircase from the living room. It is equipped with 2 bedrooms - a total of 4 people - and another bathroom with shower/sink/toilet. From the hallway a door leads to a balcony. This is a good place, for example, if you want to retreat for a short time.
In addition to a spacious terrace, there is also an additional outdoor kitchen with a sink and worktop. There is a gas grill in another room, which rounds off the comfort. Another barbecue area with a charcoal grill and seating can be found on the property not far from the house.
There is also another bathroom outside with a shower and toilet for even more luxury.
Parking for 4-5 cars is available behind the house.
Shops can be found in just a few minutes by car.
Rental of bed linen/towels is possible for €18/person. Pool heating is also possible. Here the price is 120 €/week.

Summary: There were only two of us staying in this huge house for a month, so we did not use most of the facilities. The kitchen had everything you could want, including a fridge with ice maker. Jut a word of warning: the beautiful pool is VERY slippery at the shallow end and with no hand rail you must take extra care. Our satnav told us we had arrived, but the entrance gates are about another half a mile down the road. We went to Spain midweek in September and it was a nightmare journey with traffic queued nose to tail both ways. The journey took more than two hours each way. Going into the shopping centre was just like the January sales in Oxford Street, and despite the huge car park, people were fighting for spaces. We made a hasty exit and drove further south where we managed to do all our shopping with no hassle. Alcohol in Spain is a third cheaper than in France and you should stock up in quantity to avoid a return trip across the border. The weather was changeable, sometimes very hot and sometimes very cloudy but we still managed to swim most days. All in all a very pleasant four weeks which we would recommend to anyone wanting peace and quiet.
