Positive: Responsive host, especially when I had the dates wrong and we needed an extra day! Thank you, Kennedy! Easy check in and check out. thoughtful gadgets like outlet adapter, kitchen amenities like blender, microwave, big stove, pots and pans. We cooked almost every day so we really appreciated that and the big table for our family of 6. Good security with 2 locked gates. Cute fresh yellow paint outside! Nice outside patio with extra shower and toilet. Appreciate washing machine and line for drying! Plenty of linens. Air conditioning worked well enough, much appreciated. Great ceiling fans! Good shower!
Negative: Poor wifi, but Kennedy did communicate with me about it. Moldy smell in house until we had the air conditioning on for a while. Mattresses and walls have stains and look worn out. It was more expensive than I expected to get around on metro (no free transfer at Centro). For example, we spent 180 Reales to get to and from Ipanema (for 6 people). We spent that much almost every day going places because the apartment is not close to things we wanted to do. This is not the host's fault of course but knowing that, we would likely have spent more on a closer apartment to Centro or a beach. House very close to freeway on-ramp which should be mentioned. Loud dogs barking day and night. Busy street out front, hard to cross the street, traffic aggressive and often ignore red lights. grocery store was farther away than I would have liked. I don't like the price inflation for Carnaval but I guess all hosts do that.
Summary: Serviceable apt for our family of 6, great kitchen, safe,nice building a little far from the sights
