Forming one half of a pretty pair of semi-detached cottages, Charlton Cottage offers the ideal spot for visitors looking to explore the southern stretches of the Cotswolds, whilst having plenty of places to eat and drink on the doorstep.
Set back from the road, steps lead up the garden path to the front door, which opens into the main living area. A wood-burning stove takes centre stage at one end, flanked by a comfy sofa and a mid-century-style armchair. To the other end, a media/bookshelf houses the large smart TV and a selection of books and games. Deep-set windows allow plenty of natural light. Beyond the living room is a stylish kitchen, equipped with everything needed for a self-catering stay. Stairs lead from the living room to the first floor where you'll find two double bedrooms, a small bedroom with a toddler bed and a bathroom.
A stable door leads from the kitchen into the garden. Immediately beyond the kitchen door, and up two steps, is a courtyard area with two wooden chairs and a fire bowl, outside lights are strung above you, making this a lovely spot for evening drinks. There is also a gate to the front of the house. Steep stone steps lead up to a lawn area and at the very top of the garden, there is a decked area, with rustic log steps and a wooden dining table and chairs. Living Room:
The front door opens into the main living area, which stretches the width of the cottage. Windows with deep-set windowsills sit on either side of the front door, creating a lovely place to perch with a cuppa and watch the world go by. To one end, a purpose-built media unit and bookcase house the 43" Smart TV along with a wide selection of novels and games for entertainment. Taking pride of place at the opposite end of the room is the wood-burning stove set into the original fireplace. A plump dark grey sofa, an armchair, and an upholstered stool make a cosy place to relax after a day of exploring.
Kitchen:
Beyond the living room is the stylish kitchen, with white walls and grey tiles providing a contrast to the dark grey kitchen cupboards, topped by wooden work surfaces. Neatly hidden behind the cupboard doors is everything you need to make your stay here easy and practical including a washing machine, dishwasher, and an under counter fridge.
