This is a terrific getaway log cabin. Take a walk down the gravel road (1/4 mile of unpaved, mountainous slope) to experience one of the most beautiful mountain settings in North Carolina where the Watauga River winds gently through the River basin. Once you negotiate the sloped driveway back to Watauga River Road, it is flat as it winds along the river and is great for walking, biking, and exploring.
Or take a short drive to the famous Mast General Store which opened in 1883 and still offers a cup of coffee for 5 cents. There is frequent live music and a fun array of mountain merchandise and lore.
This 1BR cabin has a front porch with rocking chairs and a swing and an old-fashioned screen door back into the cabin. The living room has a wood stove and a flat-screen TV with YouTube TV network streaming TV service and Roku internet TV to enjoy a cozy evening after a day of activities in the mountains. For those rare moments when you might need it, this cabin has air conditioning. The bedroom just off the main living area has a queen bed.
