Summary: The host never sent check-in instructions. We had to contact them to ask how to get in. Every other short term rental I’ve stayed in, the host has sent instructions 24-48 hrs ahead of time. When we got in, the place was very hot. The indoor thermostat read 89F. We thought we turned on the AC using the thermostat on the wall. But we learned a couple hours later, after the host finally got in touch, that there is no central AC. There is only a small window unit in the main room. The window unit was not enough to cool the apartment down in the heat of August. Overall, the poor communication and hot apartment did not lend themselves to a very good stay. The only upside was that we were 15 min from the beach.
