Nestled just a few dozen feet from Back Sound, with amazing views of Shackleford Banks and Cape Lookout Lighthouse, come stay at our cozy cottage in one of the best kept secrets of the Crystal Coast. Harkers Island is a short drive to historic Beaufort, and Morehead City, NC, and gives you the quiet, out-of-the-way peace that can be so hard to find! Coffee in the morning, or a cocktail in the evening while sitting out on the patio and watching the dolphins swim by is in your future!
At just under 500 sq ft, this studio style suite is the entire downstairs of a two story cottage. It has a queen bed with direct view of the water, a full kitchen, living room space with tv, washer/dryer, and a spacious bathroom. There is a closet to hang clothes, and a small dresser and some baskets to unpack from suitcases if you wish. It would be perfect for a couple’s getaway, but there is room for an air mattress (provided) that one or two younger children would be very comfortable on.
The yard is spacious, and guests are welcome to wander the garden or interact with the chickens (they are in an enclosed area, but fun to watch and feed- ask us for a list of do’s and dont’s).
Guests are welcome to the dock as well- great for fishing, sunning, relaxing, and of course docking. There is a private boat ramp as well, which can be used to launch boats of a certain size, when the tide is right. Make sure you ask us first so we can avoid any mishaps.
At medium to low tide we have a beach, with very shallow water and sand bars great for swimming. Our beach is shelly so water shoes are a must, but sea glass is also abundant and fun to hunt for.
Kayaks are also available to use to explore the shoreline and enjoy being on the water (please ask for assistance before the first use).
Guests have private access to their space, as well as a door out to their own patio. Guests will be given their own personal code to access the keyless door lock on the main entry door.
It is important to note that while your space is private, there are full time tenants who live in the space above. The occasional sounds of footsteps or cat’s paws are to be expected. Respecting our neighbors’ and guests’ peace is important to us, and is expected of our guests as well. Please call us immediately if you have any concerns!
