Dora Creek absolute waterfront is uniquely positioned with direct deep water creek access immediately to the front of the property. Ideal for boating enthusiasts and water lovers with the ability to reverse your boat trailer directly into the water from the property and park on the jetty for the rest of your stay.
A comfortable 80 minute drive from the Sydney CBD this light and airy 4-bedroom property exudes charm and style. Totally refurbished with brand new appliances (Smeg/Bosch/Miele/Westinghouse) it is the position, décor and smart design and furnishing that makes this stay an experience to while away the year that was.
North facing with its sun-drenched aspect, light summer breeze and enjoying an absolute waterfront position, the owner has thoughtfully designed features that are made to use and enjoy.
There is a stunning waterfront bar area made from recycled timbers sourced from Homebush Bay Wharf where you can sit, eat, fish or just simply relax. Perfect for an afternoon tipple. Dip your toes in the water from the elegant old world style wharf made from freshly hewn hardwood timber dressed with linseed oil. Moor your boat right here before heading out to Lake Macquarie with its access to the ocean. There is a boat launch 200 metres away.
This home enjoys a large raised north facing terrace to maximise the views that extend upriver with its extended position providing beautiful water views from the large spacious open living room and dining area and including the kitchen.
The stunning outdoor terrace contains another recycled breakfast/cocktail bar area made from recycled Norfolk pine wharf timbers that floated down the river one lucky day. There is a beautiful, distressed timber al fresco table and chairs for your further enjoyment and a Webber BBQ to maximise its outdoor utility.
The furnishing inside includes a large 7 seater lounge, brand new smart tv and period pieces that hark back to a French Colonial style furnishing tasteful, elegant and somehow post modern. There are hints of Indochina and St Tropez with the special lighting that occurs on the terrace at night and yet there is a very Australian feature cast iron stove coffee table and other designer pieces that just work.
The kitchen is styled in a Provence countryside manner with all the features you need - all the whilst enjoying water views whilst cooking up a storm.
There are 4 large double and queen bedrooms that cater for 8 people. There are 2 separate bathrooms, garage parking for 2 cars and under the terrace is a large undercover entertainment area and/or parking area for another 3 vehicles and/or your boat.
There is a small village a short 5 minute walk containing everything you need including a superb butcher, fresh seafood merchant, bottle shop, general store and a great takeaway for those days when you cannot be bothered cooking
Note: The house is 200m to the Rail Line which does not usually bother most people. Trains run 2 x 2 times/hourly until 8pm then intermittently through the night then again first thing in the mornings. We have personally stayed in the property and don't notice but we feel that we need to mention this.

Pets Allowed: please note the yard is open to the waterfront and the side road. There is no boundary fence. Guests are to maintain the safety of their pets at all times.
Important note for party planners:
Unfortunately this is not the property for you. It is in a quiet retiree neighbourhood, so a hens/bucks/schoolies type celebration is not appropriate. We can easily determine if the house rule of “No parties or events” is disrespected, and this means additional charges and/or eviction will apply, which everyone wants to avoid. If you are unsure, please enquire before booking.
How We Price: The booking price is based on a minimum number of guests. Any guests above this number are chargeable on a per person/per night rate. The system will automatically calculate the correct rate when you enter the required number of guests. Reductions in guest numbers are non-refundable.
Arrival Details: Access to the property is made easy for you. We will send you an access code just before 2pm on your arrival day via SMS and you will use this code for the duration of your stay.
Linen: 1 set of full bed linens and 1 bath towel per person are supplied. Guests may wish to bring extra towels depending on the length of their stay. Pool/Lake/Beach towels are BYO
Guest Amenities: We are Eco-Friendly - we do not supply Shampoo, Conditioner or Body Wash. Guests are reminded to prepare & bring their own personal bathroom products/amenities. We will continue to supply Anti-Bacterial hand soap in a pump pack + Kitchen Necessities/Basics.
Fires and Firewood: Internal wood fireplaces and outdoor fire pits only operate after the NSW Easter School Holidays up to before the NSW September School Holidays in line with NSW state fire restrictions. Please note we will normally supply enough firewood, kindling & fire-starters for between 1-2 nights of your stay. For guests wishing to have additional fires, we suggest BYO Firewood, Kindling, and Starters which can be easily purchased from the local service stations.
No Party Policy: All reservations operate under a Strict No-Party & Non-Excessive Noise Policy as prescribed in the NSW Short-Term Letting Legislation and Local Council Laws. This property is in a Residential Area. Failure to comply can put the security bond into jeopardy and may lead to police-assisted eviction and/or extra charges being levied. We hate to have to note this, but the reality is that so far this year we have had to evict 3 groups for overstacking/bad/anti-social behavior.
Extra Guests / Visitors: The number of people nominated on your booking is the maximum number of people that are allowed to be on the property at any one time, including visitors. Visitors may be requested and if approved must be approved in writing with Weekenda staff. Simply put, if Mum and Dad want to come over for a BBQ then we are likely to approve. If 10 extra people want to stop by we are unlikely to approve, which could put your booking at risk. We will always try to be reasonable with reasonable people within property constraints and House Rules.
Cameras and Noise Monitoring: Please note that it is highly likely that we have installed a WiFi Security Camera at the Front Entrance (and sometimes rear of the property) We are progressively rolling these out through every property in 2022/2023
Guest Registration / ID Check : Weekenda requires every guest to complete and sign an electronic guest registration prior to arrival which will ask for photo ID i.e. a copy of your Drivers Licence or Passport. The primary booker will also be required to complete a list with the guests names and actual mobile numbers. In the event we are unable to reach the primary booker, it is very important we can get a hold of other guests. These documents will be deleted after your departure. Access Codes are only released to Registered and Verified Guests.
Insurance: As always, but ever so more due to recent times, we strongly encourage any holidaymakers to obtain a very inexpensive 3rd Party Domestic Travel Insurance Policy to cover you for all manners of matters which may restrict travel. This is particularly helpful for things like Hunter Valley Concert cancellations, Covid or Medical and Other Emergencies for which we don't provide refunds, and anything which falls under our standard Terms & Conditions irrespective of the reason. We suggest reviewing policies with 'Cover-More' or 'Travel Insurance Direct' or 'Insureandgo'
