Travel Purpose: business
Positive: This is a budget hostel, and you should thärfore not expect any luxury stay. Having said that, I found that everything was good and clean. This hostel is run by Salesian nuns and staff connected to Santa Rosa school, which is attached to and interconnected with the hostel. The staff and nuns there are extremely kind, helpful, and attentive to guests. The hostel must have previously been used by nuns or other members of the community, because the decor throughout is austere and full of paintings with religious content. If you're looking for a lively hostel with activity in the evening/night, you'd better look elsewhere, but if you want tranquility and near-total silence for sleeping, this is a good place.
Negative: If I understood correctly, the hostel is restarting operations, which were abruptly cut short by the pandemic. Because of that, there are still some things they need to sort out, and they told me they're working on it. For example, at the moment you can only pay in cash. The other thing is that after daytime hours (until 5 PM), you have to go around by the school side and ring the bell for them to let you in. I mean, until they sort these things out, it can be a bit confusing, but I never had any problems, even arriving late at night.
