Perfect for solo travelers and couples, our remodeled 1934 sunlit stucco home in south central Colorado Springs is cozy, clean, comfortable and private; nestled back from the road, shaded by large ash trees and lilac hedges. Traveling nurses, business/educational travelers and couples or visiting grandparents, guests find the neighborhood home conveniently located with easy access to I-25 and 24 (easy access to the mountains - 1 hour or less to fylfishing, 2 hours to downhill skiing, downtown and historical sites, Colorado College, UCCS, local hospitals, 20 minutes to the Air Force Academy or Fort Carson. The door opens with keypad entry. The floor coverings are tile and carpeted. One bedroom with firm queen mattress sleeps two with large under bed drawers. All linens are 100% high thread count cotton with extras for the queen sleeper sofa. Two large closets offer plenty of space for clothing and shoes. Two window air conditioner units offer additional comfort, given the Colorado evenings are usually cool and comfortable sleeping with the windows open. The bathroom is newly remodeled in tile with tub, shower, pedestal sink, plenty of towels, toiletries, and basic first aide needs. Off the bathroom, the supplied laundry room has washer, dryer, ironing board and iron. The living room and dining area are open to one another seating six for dinner. Free wifi and a 43" Smart Amazon Fire TV allow guests access to their own Netflick, Sling, hulu, Amazon, Pandora accounts...). The walls are graced with the original paintings of local professional artists. The kitchen is sunny and completely equipped with gas stove, large refrigerator, dishwasher, microwave, toaster, dishes, coffee cups, wine glasses, enamel and stainless pots and pans, baking and serving dishes, salad bowl, water pitcher, iron frying pan, cutlery, utensils, coffee maker, french press, tea kettle, towels, placemats, and napkins. Complimentary organic coffee and tea is yours to enjoy. East of the patio is a two burner propane table top barbecue with tools. There are smoke and carbon monoxide detectors and a fire extinguisher. There is ample parking with a long driveway, and an empty single car garage.
We have wonderful neighbors so please respect the peace - 'quiet' gatherings and ALL PROPERTY is SMOKE FREE. No one under twenty one may rent and your party should not exceed 2 people (small children). No pets are allowed to keep our home allergen free for guests. There may be exceptions for service animals. We reserve the right to ask you to stay somewhere else if you cannot abide by these requests. Our home is unique due to its location in a traditional, historic, revived neighborhood. Yet, there is minutes access to public transportation, I-25, highways 24 and 115. We are about ten miles from the Colorado Springs airport. The Ivywild School and Community Marketplace is walking distance and houses a wifi coffee shop and bakery-cafe, The Bristol Brewery, patio restaurant, and live music venue. Also within a short walk - an outdoor family owned local produce market and nursery (Spencer's), the outstanding Blue Star Restaurant, and The Milibo Art Theatre. Just around the corner is The Cheyenne Branch of The Pikes Peak Library District and Harlan Wolfe Community Garden. Within three to five miles (five to fifteen minutes) are The Broadmoor Hotel and Golf Course, The Cheyenne Mountain Resort, NORAD, El Pomar, The Seven Falls, The Broadmoor World Arena, The Patty Jewett Golf Course, The Cheyenne Mountain Zoo, Cheyenne Canon hiking, biking, and rock climbing, The Garden of the Gods, Red Rock Canyon, Gold Camp and Old Stage Road, Old Colorado City, downtown Colorado Springs, The Pikes Peak Center, the historic Peak Theatre, Colorado College, The Fine Arts Center, The Olympic Training Center, two rock climbing gyms, Angler's Covey, Manitou Springs, and the Pikes Peak Highway (20 or so minutes). We are 45 minutes from two natural hot springs, an hour from gold medal streams and still water fishing, and a couple hours from major ski resorts. Locals enjoy snowshoeing, touring, golf, tennis, mountain biking, road biking, world class rock/ice climbing, and mountain trail running right in our backyard.
More convenient shopping is walking distance around the corner (Safeway, Sprouts, Natural Grocers, fine wine and liquors, breweries, restaurants, (local fav 8th street La Casita authentic Mexican), farmer's markets and food trucks, art galleries, entertainment, and medical emergency treatment are within the same five to fifteen minute trip.
