Little Blue by the bay - 1BR Cabin - Escanaba | House in Escanaba

We call our place ‘Little Blue by the bay.’ It is a tiny home located across the street from the lake, in the scenic Ford River area of M-35 in Escanaba Michigan. The home is perfectly designed for two people who are looking for a relaxing getaway, or someone who is passing through for work or leisure and needs a little r&r along the way. Just minutes from river access, boat launch, public beach and local breweries.
Little Blue is located on over an acre of forest, and sits directly across the street from Lake Michigan/Green Bay! It’s a tiny home that was once someone’s Lake cabin before being moved to its current location.
First lets get the quirky things to note out of the way so there are no surprises!
-The Loft is NOT available for guest use, sorry!
-The house is located directly on M35 so there is road noise. It helps to sleep with the air purifier or fan (that we provide) if you are a light sleeper.
-The timezone change is nearby, so may flip flop on your phone or computer depending on where you stand in the house. Best to rely upon one of the clocks we have in the home.
-Cell service may or may not work for you at the cabin depending on your provider. It’s best to use Wi-Fi calling when in the home. (It’s the U.P. eh!)
-We use a on-demand hot water heater. In the mornings when it’s cold out it may take a minute to kick on (like most of us) so best to let it run for a minute to get hot, and it never runs out!
(*note the home has well water, which may leave stains in the toilet or sink, be aware the bathroom is cleaned thoroughly after each guest.)
Phew! Now that the awkward part is over, lets get to the rest!
The Space:
The living room and kitchen are one space.
There is a bedroom with a comfy queen sized murphy bed, and a little work station for a computer. There are no closets in the home, but plenty of spaces to unpack your things! The home is a charming space that was carefully designed to be cozy yet practical, and has just about everything you will need for your stay.
Amenities:
You’ll have access to a full kitchen with additional amenities including beverages and a coffee and tea bar. There is a traditional coffee maker, Keurig, French press, coffee grinder, matcha whisk and bowl, electric whisk, blender, and all standard utensils and cookware. There are spices and herbs as well as unscented coconut oil for cooking. We even have phone chargers for all 3 types of plugs located on the side of the fridge for use during your stay. Seasonally there will be a bbq and outdoor furniture. Fire pit is available upon checking burn status with host. Chairs and a hammock are also available seasonally. *season is defined as June 1 to October 1.
Wifi is included and there is a Roku Tv you can sign into your accounts to use, but remember to sign out before you go!
There is NO A.C. But the temps in the home are generally mild all Summer long due to the lake nearby. We find using the fan is sufficient. If you would like to use the De-humidifier one is available upon request, message host. Air purifier and fan available for use. Bathroom includes soap, shampoo, razors, hairdryer, toothpaste, lotion and other bathroom necessities.
Water:
The home runs on well water and septic tank. We have a water filtration system so the water is not too hard and is drinkable. We had it tested recently and it came back with great results! It’s good water!!—If you require there will be bottled water available in fridge for your use.
Guest Access:
The entire home is for your personal use as listed, with the exception of loft/attic. Please do not access the crawl space or outside dwellings.
Security Cameras:
Located on the perimeter outside only and none facing towards the windows of the home, only: driveway, camper, backyard, and fuse box.
Fun Stuff:
-River access/Boat launch just minutes away (requires a recreation passport for the state of Michigan to use.) Locals like to fish there!
-Free public beach 7 minutes away at Ludington Park in Escanaba.
-Airport nearby as well as Upper Hand Brewery (5 minutes away.)
-Just minutes from great dining, shops, and waterfront!

Yard is a shared space, as is fire pit. Hosts may use the yard and fire pit when they are there.
Other things to note
Please be aware of the septic and do not flush anything other than the provided toilet paper.
Please do not rearrange furniture or remove indoor furniture/items from the home - not for outdoor use.
