Enjoy magnificent views of the river Tweed from this fully restored historic cottage, located on the banks of the river. The cottage has a large open plan living room and kitchen. It has a large antique dining table set for a meals for 4 people. There are two comfy sofas and a wall mounted smart tv . Books, maps and games are provided.
The kitchen is fully equipped with full oven, hob, microwave, toaster etc. I has a separate fridge and freezer. The dishwasher comes with a supply of dishwasher tablets and other cleaning items are to be found under the sink.
Guests will find a small Welcome Basket with a selection of local items together with home made jam and local beer and shortbread. Te, ground coffee, sugar, milk and eggs are included in the price
There is a useful downstairs toilet and sink in the entrance hall. in the hallway you can hang coats, and store shoes and boots.
Up the stairs which is finished in light oak the landing has a splendid view of the river. The attractive oak flooring continues from the landing to both the bedrooms
The larger of the two bedrooms has a super king bed and and a comfortable sofa. It has decorative rugs. A second Smart tv is provided and a dab radio. The bedroom also looks across to the Tweed and you can often see the fisher folk and boats fishing for salmon.
Off the bedroom there is a really smart, fully tiled wet room with underfloor heating. The shower has stunning tiling in black and white , an illuminated mirror and shaver point. There are views across the orchard of the neighbours garden and over the cottage courtyard where guests can relax. The wet room has a rain head or flexible head shower and lots of fluffy towels. We provide organic soap specially made for Border Holiday Homes. Towels are kept warm on the smart designer towel rail.
the washer dryer is cleverly located in a cupboard created at the entrance to the bathroom. Many doors have been restored and reused to keep the character of the cottage
In the second slightly smaller bedroom there is a king size bed and a second designer wet room with shower and toilet. Here the vanity unit offers plenty of under sink storage for additional towels and toiletries. There is a heated designer towel rail and underfloor heating. The shower room entrance has a smart opaque glass sliding door . Again there is a razor point and a second hairdryer. In the bedroom there is a hanging space for clothing and extra storage under the newly created window seat. Wall lights and an attractive mirror radiator make the bedroom very attractive. The view from this window is also stunning.
We provide a stairgate if small children stay and can provide a pak and play cot for babies.
The cottage has full central heating and double glazing, energy efficient lighting and excellent loft insulation to make it very energy efficient.
At the rear of the cottage is a pretty courtyard area with table and chairs and a useful shed. It is a secure area for leaving bikes
