This charming 1650s cottage has recently completed a year-long restoration with Suffolk Council’s heritage teams. As a grade II-listed, timber-framed and rendered structure, this stunning property will take you straight back to the mid-17th century where you can marvel at the architecture and beauty of this single domestic residence and the lean-to shopfront. The original features have been lovingly restored while modern comforts have been upgraded with new central heating, TVs, beds and furniture ensuring a luxurious step back in time. Our beautiful accommodation is set in secure gardens with access to a fifteen-acre private park. As the perfect scenery to unwind in, the Old Post Office provides you with an ideal excuse to escape the demands of everyday life and visit this picturesque location with your friends and family.
The Ground Floor
Sitting Room – Solid oak floors, large Inglenook fireplace with club fender, heavily beamed walls and ceilings, sofas and chairs for eight guests with 42” smart TV.
Dining Room – Large dining table and eight chairs.
Kitchen – Farmhouse style with range cooker, American fridge/freezer, dishwasher, microwave, kettle, toaster, and table and chairs for two.
The Post Room – With the charm of a bygone era featuring a sofa and chair so you can watch the world go by as the Postmaster would have.
Washroom – Lavatory, hand basin and washing machine
First Floor
Master Bedroom – King-size bed, en-suite to the Family Bathroom.
Postmaster’s Bedroom – King-sized bed, accessed through the Master Bedroom.
Third Bedroom –King- sized bed.
Family Bathroom – Underfloor heating, bath with overhead power-shower, lavatory and handbasin.
Old Ale House (annex)
Fourth Bedroom – Only a few feet from the main building is a fully renovated bedroom /studio including King-sized bed, 42” Smart TV, en-suite shower room with lavatory and basin. With double doors opening onto the patio this has ideal access for wheelchairs or the less mobile (who might also want a little privacy from the main house).
