2 Bedroom House in Fish Hoek

If you want a true getaway surrounded by nature with endless sea views yet be close to all that Cape Town has to offer, then look no further. Our cottage is the perfect escape, for a weekend or to write that novel that you need to bring into the world.
In the winter cuddle up in front of the cozy fire place and watch the whales ad dolphins and in the summer enjoy BBQs on the decks and endless activities in the immediate neighbourhood: Hiking, Kayaking, Horse Riding, excellent golf courses.
Our cottage is a cozy bright house. Please be aware that you need to climb 90 stairs to get the best view in Cape Town, but believe us, everyone who has been there swears that it is absolutely worth the effort. The living area is open plan, the kitchen is fully equipped with a gas stove, oven, microwave, kettle and toaster. There is one bathroom with a shower.
The bedroom downstairs has french doors that open up to the veranda, a queen bed, ample cupboard space and a dresser. The upstairs bedroom has two single beds, which can be put together if required. We do have outside bbq facilities for summer
Guests will have their total privacy as the cottage is only surrounded by nature.
Please note that you do need to climb the stairs to get to our beautiful place. But up there you will be rewarded with incredible views of sunrises, whales and eagles. (And a super fit body after your holiday, so you can enjoy South Africa s delicious wines without a bad conscience).
Fish Hoek
Fish Hoek is a special little place where time stands still. Go swim in the crystal clear water which s the warmest you will find in Cape Town. The beach is lovely with small rockpools along the acces path and lifeguard and shark nets to keep you safe. For the outdoor fans there is a plethora of possibilities: Hiking trials, mountain bike routes, surfski and SUP rental etc etc right at your finger tips.

Summary: Communication with Uta was very good despite her having to be out of the country upon our arrival. She sent very clear instructions on where to park and how to access the property. Regarding the location, the town of Fish Hoek isn’t at all salubrious - it’s quite tired but there are a couple of really sweet cafes. Simons Town and Kalk Bay are nearby though so the town of Fish Hoek is easy to avoid - and it does have a beautiful beach! The location of the property itself though is lovely, up a quiet road with plenty of beautiful houses in the neighbourhood. The property is lovely, everything is as described in the listing and the photos donut justice. There were just a few things missing which would take the property from “good” to “excellent “. Adding the following would be really helpful: - a welcome message within the house, a map of the local area showing where supermarkets, restaurants etc could be found - a hairdryer - a small safe - replacing the sheer curtain in the main bedroom so that the sun doesn’t pour in first thing in the morning - a curtain or blind in the upstairs room. - cushions for the sun loungers - new (even second hand) coffee table as the glass in the center of the existing one was missing - more tealights for when the load shedding (planned government power cuts) kicks in All that said, the house was comfortable, really nicely decorated, very clean and we enjoyed our time there looking out over the magnificent views. This really is a special property and just a few minor tweaks could make it absolutely stunning.
