Positive: The cabin was clean and comfortable. The main bedroom downstairs is large with a comfortable king-sized bed. The yard was nice with a gas firepit, nice gas grill, large picnic table and covered patio and bar area. They offered lots of outdoor games as well as indoor games and provided satellite TV & a DVD player and some movies. We all liked the reclining sofa and large chair in the living area. There was a large fan in the living area and it appears that there are several portable heaters if you're planning on being there in the cooler weather. There is also a nice pellet stove in the living area. The kitchen was well stocked with all the things you need. We really appreciated having K-cups, olive oil, spices, paper towels, a dish sponge & dish soap, aluminum foil, plastic wrap, plastic baggies and enough trash bags! I may suggest adding a meat thermometer (but not everyone depends on those like we do). There were hanging baskets to fit all of our bread and chips, etc. and the rest of our food items fit nicely on the shelf in the kitchen. The host was very nice and responsive and fixed a little problem we had ASAP. We felt right at home there.
Negative: The spiral staircase is a little scary at first. The couple that stayed upstairs got used to it eventually and managed to get up and down OK. They said the single beds upstairs were comfortable, but maybe a little tight as the walls are slanted. The screen on the slider door needs to be replaced, but that was a minor issue. I might recommend having a fan for the bedrooms. We called ahead and brought 2 fans with us, which we used, especially during the day. It cooled off at night a couple of nights, so they were not needed then. It just would be nice to have on hot days. Most of the time it probably isn't that hot there. The provisions in the kitchen are great and very appreciated. However, the kitchen and refrigerator are compact. It is very functional, just compact, especially if 2 or more people are preparing a meal.
Summary: This is truly a Tranquil Forest Lakes Retreat with comfortable indoor and outdoor spaces to enjoy!
