Centrally located and uniquely nestled in the west end of Ojai, The Quail-Oaks House is a serene oasis that offers a true escape from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. Our home offers a variety of peaceful and relaxing spaces for creating unique gatherings, memories and inspiring creativity.
Our main house is a comfortable 4-bedroom + 3.5 bathroom house that can accommodate up to 10 guests, making it ideal for multi-family retreats and vacations.
Upon arrival, a private road leads to a gated entrance by a river rock wall into an oak tree landscape-encased ground surrounded by a bucolic winter creek. A variety of areas are available to explore and soak up the natural beauty of the surroundings, such as walking through the creek, peaceful benches, hammocks, outdoor seating, and Adirondack chairs hidden by tree canopies for peaceful relaxation and watching the sunset with your favorite wine or tea!
A covered front porch welcomes you with spacious seating to enjoy bird watching while relaxing with your favorite book as well as observing our beloved quails visit in season.
Upon entry, a stunning modern and minimalist mid-century style, cathedral ceiling living room receives you with custom-built sofa and cabinetry with a built-in electric fireplace and TV. Stylishly decorated with rattan hanging lamps and indirect LED wall lights, it offers a great ambiance set up for cozy gatherings and memories. Our living room has beautiful French doors leading to the rear yard and outdoor fire pit.
A formal dining room seating 8 is beautifully decorated with ethnic Ecuadorian decor of handmade tapestries and traditional art. Our music room houses an upright piano and comfortable chairs to read, listen, or watch the outdoor garden and the daily visits of birds as they eat and bathe. Sometimes during the summer, a flock of California quails come to visit our property. It’s a good place for playing card games, and there's a children's desk for games and art activities.
A complete gourmet kitchen is adjacent with a spacious island, pantry, and an in-kitchen dining area with a beautiful view of our intimate back patio. With ample surfaces, it is a true treat for anyone who loves to cook.
Our master bedroom suite is also found on the ground floor and has cathedral ceilings, which instantly elevates your spirit, along with an octagonal window in the front wall that offers morning light upon waking up. This bedroom has lateral double-pane windows facing west with a view of the private backyard. It also has a TV and a small relaxing reading corner. It has its own connected bathroom with dual sinks, a walk-in shower, Jacuzzi tub, and a large walk-in closet. There is a separate room for the toilet that has a bidet seat with a warm air dryer and heated seat.
Upstairs, you will find three additional ample bedrooms, each holding their own unique qualities. Bedroom 2 /Junior Suite is a great option for kids, as it holds 2 twin beds on organic mattresses. Bedroom 3/ Couple’s suite holds 1 King bed with a beautiful oak tree canopy view. Bedroom 4/ Family Suite is great for a family, as it holds 2 King beds, a working table with a beautiful garden view, as well as a kid's library and game corner, including an art table for our little ones. It has it’s own private bathroom and walk-in closet. An additional complete bathroom is available to be shared with Junior and Couple Suite.
Our garage/playroom can park 2 cars or open up to hold a ping pong table and foosball. Our home comes with two bikes ready for usage.
The Quail-Oaks House is only a few minutes' walk from a beautiful bicycle path that runs into downtown Ojai and numerous hiking trails. It's only 10 minutes from downtown, where you can enjoy restaurants, wine tasting, boutique shopping, and golfing.
The outside back patio is a cozy and intimate space that holds an outdoor fire pit for small gatherings and comfortable outdoor seating for relaxation, including a hammock. Our outdoor jacuzzi set by our creekside is an absolute treat and a favorite.
