Originally built in 1890's as a restaurant that served the officers of the Presidio this unique Victorian cottage was converted to a house in the 30's. It is the lower unit of a two unit with garden access. It has an equipped kitchen, a dining area with a library for your pleasure, a sitting room with a sleeping sofa for 1 person, arm chairs, a desk, and a TV. All the cabinetry is custom built by a master craftsman.
The bedroom has an antique four-poster queen bed, an art deco vanity, and closets, separated from the sitting area with curtains for privacy. The bathroom has the feeling of a hamam, tiled with Turkish tiles and looks out to the garden where you can also enjoy breakfast or tea. When you leave your private sanctuary, you will find yourself across the street from the Presidio (17,000 acres of park land) with lovely walking trails. 8 minutes walk to the Crissy Field beach and recreation center. Or walk down to Chestnut street for shopping and having a wonderful dinner. Close to 5 bus lines that will take you anywhere in the city or make connections to Marin, Sonoma, and Napa counties.
