Let our extra bedroom be your home-away-from-home. Comfortable bedroom with view of a cute red barn and chickens in the yard. We are in a friendly country neighborhood with gorgeous Mt. Baker, but view just ten minutes from I-5.
The bathroom is shared with one other professional traveler. The two of you have the whole upstairs to yourselves. Year-round residents include 3-4 adults, 2 dogs, 6 cats, and so very many chickens.
It's a good-sized house, so we all have the space we need.

Whatcom County is the perfect place for an outdoor enthusiast, featuring Mt. Baker -- the country's #1 Snowboarding destination in winter and gorgeous hiking in summer; the San Juan Islands -- an international travel destination; Bellingham Bay for sea-kayaking and other salty adventures; numerous lakes, rivers, parks, and forests. There is ample basement storage in the basement for bikes, kayaks, etc. .
Seattle Washington and Vancouver, B.C. are both less than 2 hours away, making for convenient cosmopolitan day-trips
We have made the top floor of our Family Home into rentals for Traveling Professionals and/or AirBNB travelers. There are two bedrooms and a shared bathroom which is divided between a shower/tubroom and a toilet/sink room with a locking door between.
The Entry Door opens directly onto the staircase to the upstairs rooms, so your comings and goings don't have you walking through the main part of the house. There is a gate on the landing to keep the family dogs from bothering you and other than coming up once a week to water the plants, we don't pass the gate so that you will have the privacy you need. Each bedroom has a keycode door lock.
The blue room has the full-sized bed in the loft which allows for a roomy sitting area below it.
The kitchen, dining room, living room, den, and deck are available for guest use, with a shared guest fridge right off the kitchen. We do ask that you use the den TV, not the living room TV.
The two of us live on the main floor along with an occasional semi-fledged adult child, 2-4 dogs, and a varying number of indoor/outdoor cats.
The house sits on farmland and we have roosters. Roosters crow. A lot. Earplugs and a white noise machine will help, embracing the joyous sounds of nature will help even more.
Smoking and vaping are not allowed anywhere on the property. Your use of alcohol and marijuana is your business as long as it does not impact other residents. No illegal drugs are permitted. Quiet hours are from 10 p.m. to 8 a.m unless you are a rooster.
We ask that street shoes be removed and left on the landing for cleanliness and for quiet; hardware floors and hard-soled shoes are noisy in the wee hours.
The house is professionally cleaned once a week, including the shared tenant bathroom. Your room can be included, at your discretion and expense.
