4 Bedroom House in Mitiwanga, Huron
Fully modern ranch style cottage with three bedrooms on main level and an open loft with one queen size and one twin mattress, ideal for overnight guests. Two of the bedrooms are furnished with queen size beds, and one has a bunk bed with twin top and full bottom, as well as a twin trundle. This latter room also has a sofa with a pull out queen size bed. We often refer to this latter room as our children's room.
Two of the bedrooms have patio door (with screen) to covered backyard porch. Main living room also has a patio door (with screen) to the front stone-set terrace. .
Kitchen, with extra large island, dining room, with comfortable seating for 10-12, and main living room, with real stone fireplace, are one large open space; including the open loft with lumber railings.
Walk outside, cross route 6, the Coastal Highway, and you are at the beach in about five minutes. Although these are private association beaches, we have never been stopped; but in the rare instance you are stopped, walk a few hundred yards (East) down the road to the beach next to a restaurant, cottage community, and small motel; or you can drive a couple of minutes the other way to a small marina, where you can not only launch you boat, or ask about renting a boat, but also enjoy the beach. This marina also provides fishing gear, bait, etc.
You are probably familiar with area attractions already, including Cedar Point, and Kalahari, and other amusement centers, but just in case, we have left a brochure for you at the cottage. This brochure also has the contact information for the local tourist office, where you can get even more directions attractions, such as Lake Erie Islands, ferry services, etc.
Our garage is reserved for the owner, but you have plenty of off-street parking next to it.
Main drawback right now is only one bathroom; but this bathroom has a heated floor and a jacuzzi tub and shower. Next to the kitchen is a utility room with a commercial grade washer/dryer and a sink. Depending on how long you stay, you may want to use the washer/dryer both for your own clothes and for towels. There is enough detergent to get you started. Make sure you have washed and dried all towels you have used before you leave. (All linen you use should be left on the floor for the maintenance crew to wash.)
One more thing: our cottage is in the woods, and although we have screen on windows and patio doors, it is reasonable to expect a critter or two to come it from time to time. You just have to use the insect spray or similar means to get rid of them. If you are not up to that, you should not book this location (or any other wooded location, for that matter).
Feel free to use consumable products we have left at the cottage, such as coffee, water, soda, paper plates, sugar, flour, condiments, toilet paper, paper towels, soap, dishwasher tablets, etc. There is usually enough of everything to get started, and when you need more, you have shopping within 10-15 minutes in either direction on route 6.
