4 Bedroom Ski Chalet in Bartlett, Hart's Location
Freshly renovated and overlooking the Saco River, this unique open-plan base camp is your home to the White Mountains.
The great room and kitchen are united with a 110” long kitcehn island that will host your dining, imbibing, game-playing, puzzle solving and family hang outs.
This space is complemented by a remote control gas fireplace, ceiling fan, slider to the rear deck and high ceilings. Perfectly suited to get you rested for every kind of adventure you seek, and all the needed comforts to help you melt into the night after a day in the mountains or in the river.
Located toward the end of a private road, with the Saco River in the backyard, the Scenic Conway Rail road across the street (operates seasonally) and the White Mountain National Forest all around, you will be encapsulated in abundant natural beauty which makes this house one of a kind.
In the warm months there is no greater pleasure than swimming and playing in some of the purest and most energizing water on the planet. This mountain fed river in the backyard will also soothe you with its relaxing sound year round and right out your window.
A true retreat, this home is nestled at the foot of Crawford Notch. 25 minute drive to North Conway & Bretton Woods. 8 minutes to Attitash. 20 minutes to Jackson. - 15 minutes to Story Land.
Featuring 2 Separate Living rooms rooms each with a fireplace / stove and a TV, there is always space for different activities or age groups.
Kitchen is appointed with everything you will need for cooking and entertaining. Dishwasher, drip coffee, keurig, toaster oven, pots, pans, cutting boards, assorted oils / spices etc.
There is a Primary Bedroom with en suite bathroom below the second living room. Full bath, queen bed, and private walk out patio. The suite is separate from the other bedrooms.
Below the Great Room and kitchen, are 3 bedrooms (twin room, middle room, & queen room) plus a full-bath #2 and half-bath #3. These bedrooms and bathrooms are accessed by *STEEP STAIRS* , which will be difficult for older guests, small children or any individuals with mobility issues. There is a sturdy handrail and the stairs are sound, but steeper than normal. Please note this in advance of booking, especially toddlers and older guests.
Bedrooms have newer memory foam mattresses and have black out shades or pull-down shades.
The chalet is super-close to the river (building set-backs were different in the 70’s). This makes for one of the most intimate relaxing front row seats to the song and beauty of the Saco River. The backyard has a fire pit and Adirondack chairs for you to enjoy your time along the river.
ACCESS TO THE RIVER is at your own risk, yet fully legal and encouraged in-season. There is a 25’ steep dirt and stone path down to the river (in summer season). There is a “wading pool” area and a waist deep pool in the rapids behind the house. You can also walk up river to Sawyer Falls and tube down, rainfall/water level permitting. Do not go in or near the river when there is ice or if it is running hard, which it does after a severe storm.
WINTER DRIVEWAY: The driveway is gravel and may be snow or ice covered in the winter. We will always do our best to have ice melt available as needed for the entry areas. Driveway is plowed when it snows 3” or more. Bring good snow shoes as you will be in the heart of the white mountains on a potentially slippery and not perfectly cleared driveway.
DANGER: We have metal roofs and snow and ice can slide off them. Please always be aware of this.
CELL PHONE COVERAGE: Verizon & US Cellular have 2 bars at the house, not great but they work. All other carriers do not have a signal. You will need to enable WiFI calling which works with our internet. If lots of devices are connected you may have issues with WiFI calling. Cell coverage is great if you drive back to the main road (2.5 miles).
Snowmobile trail is at the end of the driveway on railroad tracks, seasonal operation.
Fishing, Kayaking, tubing, and relaxing in the Saco River in the backyard.
We will be making ongoing updates and pictures may not reflect the most current state of the house.
