Summary: We stayed for a week as a party of five (two grandparents, our daughter and grandchildren aged 2yrs and 3 months.) The house is spacious and well equipped; we particularly liked the large enclosed patio which was very safe for a toddler to play in. We enjoyed using the pools, particularly the toddler pool where our 2 year old was able to walk about unaided (the main pool is very deep at one end.) Ana was very welcoming and helpful, and we much appreciated the fruit and drinks that were there on our arrival. A car is essential, but the roads are excellent and quiet and the local town of Silves was easy to negotiate with plenty of good restaurants and well-stocked supermarkets. There was a large free car-park by the children's playground near the river. We had a particularly lovely meal and were made very welcome (even with young children!) at O Barradas and we would recommend Churrasqueira Valdemar, Cafe Ingles and Cafe Da Rosa. As our first trip to Portugal we were very impressed and hope to return!
