The retreat is a few miles north of San Francisco with expansive views of the San Francisco Bay from the San Rafael bridge to the tip of the Golden Gate.
The home is located at the top of Ring Mountain, with nearly 400 acres of hiking trails, views of San Francisco and Mt. Tamalpais and the bay, right outside the front gate.
Close to EVERYTHING! Use this base to see the Bay Area. Take the Larkspur ferry to the ballpark. In five minutes, you can visit the quaint town of Tiburon with shops and dining. You can take a ferry to Angel Island or San Francisco from downtown Tiburon. The Corte Madera shopping centers are at the freeway exit. Take 101 south and you are 18 minutes from San Francisco. Stinson Beach, Muir Woods and the Pacific Ocean are close by. Ten minutes to the historic waterfront town of Sausalito, where you can bike, stand up paddle board, paddle board yoga, or kayak on San Francisco Bay. Visit art galleries, or have coffee in one of the many restaurants and coffee houses. Artsy Mill Valley offers mountain side beauty, shops galleries, restaurants and hiking on Mt Tamalpais. Want to go to Napa or Sonoma? Its less than 30 minutes away.
There are 3 full bedrooms and two and one-half bathrooms. One king bed, one queen, and 1 twin bed. There are also 2 daybeds (twins) in the living room with linens if needed. There is a large kitchen fully equipped and several decks and outdoor patios with a spa.
IMPORTANT: Property is in TIBURON but may show as BELVEDERE on google maps, but the directions are still the same.
Please no pets and no children. I am the owner/occupant of this custom home designed with no children so it is not really set up for young ones. This has been my home for over 20 years and I am happy to share it with those who will continue to care for it gently.
The home is stocked with soap, shampoo, shaving cream, conditioner, toothpaste, (if you need them) and blow dryers. Basically, everything you may need is provided in case you forget to pack something.
I also have coffee, tea, coffeemate creamer, sugar and other items to get you started. Nugget market is right down the street for your basic needs and take out.
There is private parking for 4 cars in front of the garage. The garage is not available for use. The house is solar powered with a back up generator, but any electricity used in excess of the panels is billed to the tenant. Natural gas is also reimbursed by the tenants. California is in a severe drought...water must be conserved and any penalties will be paid by the tenants.
The decks are beautiful and there is a nice BBQ available.
Wi-Fi is super-fast with several boosters for the whole house. The owner is not on the property but help is a phone call away if needed.
What I love most about this house is the natural light and views. The morning sun comes in through the all glass living room, of beautiful redwood, bringing the outside in. The home was designed by a student of Frank Lloyd Wright. The afternoon sun warms the patio and the primary bedroom. The sunsets from Ring Mountain with views of the Golden Gate Bridge and Mt. Tamalpais are spectacular. The full moon is amazing to watch rise from the spa.
