Summary: This property was in a nice quiet community in the Shanty Creek resort property. It was nice to be able to go and explore the main lodge of Shanty Creek and the grounds, but be seperated from the busy-ness of the hotel and event center area. The home was spacious and had everything our family needed for our long weekend stay. The rooms were comfortable including all the furnishings. We enjoyed the little touches of the fireplace, lots of family games and the games on the upper level. Our only negative was the cleanliness of the home on arrival. The home is in the woods so I'd expect some bugs but there were a lot of dead black flies in the upper level of the home, carpets needed to be cleaned (vacuum or shampooed), and the tubs needed a good cleaning and likely hadn't been used in awhile. None of these small finds ruined our stay or impression of the home overall, just seemed like it had been some time since someone had stayed or a deep clean had been done. The owners were very quick to respond to communication which is always nice. We would consider this property again in the future for a northern get away.
