The neighbourhood
Centrally located but just off the beaten track, Clerkenwell is vibrant yet peaceful with a wide range of easily accessed transport offering directs links all over central London, The City, and beyond.
Once one of London’s industrial heartlands and now known as one of the capital’s cultural hubs it is home to a wealth of creative, design and architectural agencies in it’s historic streets, a gastronomic mecca with the world famous Smithfield Market at it’s heart and a host of lunchtime food markets, restaurants, historic Chop Houses, and Sadler’s Wells Theatre. A small Italian heartland still remains following the locality’s previous incarnation as a Little Italy from mid 1800s up until the 1950’s. Amongst all this metropolitan variety any number of squares, parks and green spaces are peppered around, either to relax, or to take advantage of the free exercise and sports facilities some provide.
