Budgong Lodge was created by the present owners who bought the property and lived in the original old cottage that was located on the acreage. They decided that they wanted to share this beautiful spot with others and Budgong Lodge was born! Beautifully built by local craftsman as well as input from the owners, this home has four equally sized bedrooms,plus a huge open kitchen and living area- perfect for socialising. The Lodge is positioned at the base of Mount Scanzi escarpment in the middle of the 180 acre property with views of the surrounding bushland and Morton National park . Simply enjoy the space or sit on the expansive deck and listen to the notes and noise of birds and wildlife,including kangaroos and wallabies.
The Lodge is equipped with four bedrooms - all with Queen beds, as well as two sizable bathrooms one with a deep bath to soak away the aches and pains after a bush walk! A modern well equiped kitchen, large lounge room with open firplace and a dining area. The significant deck offers further outside dining and seating area.
The property originally homed cattle but now the owners horses wander, although not available for riding they are partial to a carrot!
it should be noted that there is no mobile coverage at the home however there is a landline for Emergency use and there is WIFI and Foxtel for your enjoyment. Please do note that uninterrupted connection cannot be guaranteed. Why not use this time to switch off and detox from the technology!
Budgong Lodge may be removed from the hustle and bustle of city life but still only 10 minutes from the centre of Kangaroo Valley,half and hour to the Southern Highlands and 40 minutes to the coast(Gerringon, Gerroa and Shoalhaven Heads)

Summary: We just returned from a 4 night stay with friends and children. The house is beautiful, the setting stunning. Our overall first impression was great. There are horses virtually on your doorstep and in the afternoon the wombats, kangaroos and ducklings appear, all sharing the same space! The kids and adults alike loved it. The fireplace in the lounge is magnificent, a total feature. There are games and cards for added fun. Beautiful, comfy beds, modern bathrooms and a big modern kitchen. The downsides - the window frames are full of webs and dead flies and a couple of spiders. Not really an acceptable level of cleanliness considering the price per night! Overall the place is clean and tidy but more attention to detail would have been nice considering a few days before we arrived the house was supposedly checked over! However, having said all that, generally the property is stunning and we would definitely return, just don’t want to see dead flies, spiders and webs when all it would take is a wet cloth and some elbow grease.
