Summary: Great bungalow , fully airconditioned although the property seems to be naturally cool as even in the heat of August summer we didnt need it much. The pictures undersell the property which has been finished to a very high standard and has a clean and fresh feel to it. The outside patio extends down the side of the property and is good for sunbathing throughout the day. There are two double bedrooms, a third bedroom with a cabin bed, a sofabed in the lounge and a sofa in the study off the kitchen where there is a 2nd television and playstation. The area is generally very quiet and the road is not busy and inside the house there is no external noise to hear. We had hired a car so that we could go sightseeing in Avignon, Mont Ventoux, Pont du Gard, Gigondas amongst the usual tourist trail. It was simple enough though to walk into town where there are plenty of bars and restaurants, super U etc. There are some historical buildings in Monteux and the town overall has a pleasant and relaxed atmosphere. I had not realised that Monteux was a hotbed for fireworks and unfortunately we missed out on the end of August festival which would be worth seeing. In the next town along , Carpentras, there is a hypermarket with cheap fuel, a shopping mall and open air swimming pool. In Avignon which was about a 20 -30 min drive there is the full range of city based facilities...museums, cafes, restaurants and historical monuments etc. There are two relatively new theme parks nearby , Wave Island we visited and Parc Spiro that we did not. These are potentially walkable although driving by car seemed more popular. Next to these parks is Lake Monteux where you can hire pedalo for 8 euros per half hour and there is a shingle beach with a supervised swimming area. So there was no shortage of things to do in walking , cycling and driving distance. I would happily recommended the property and the area as well as Ced , the owner , who gave us a warm welcome and throrough tour of the property. Thank you Ced for being so hospitable and helpful, we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and hope to return soon.
