Positive: Staying here is a wonderful and relaxing experience, especially if you want to explore the fabulous tracks of the Portofino Park. The Villa is an old, historic property with beautiful gardens and attentive hosts. The views are amazing and it’s so peaceful - no road noise here. There is even a plunge pool in a quiet part of the garden if you need to cool down on hot days. It takes a little effort to orient yourselves to being in the park - but once you have it sussed it’s a lovely vacation experience. It is a 10 minute walk from San Rocco which has two dining options for dinner and two different options for breakfast. If one is closed the other is open. All are friendly with freshly prepared food and reasonably priced. We took a taxi on arrival from the railway station at the start of our stay at a cost of 27€. A 15 minute ride up to San Rocco offered lovely views of Camogli below. Once checked in we did everything on foot or by using the ferries. It’s a 30 min walk into Camogli down a series of steps through olive trees and villas - it takes about 45 mins on the way back up. Being in the park gives you a good start on the trails which are well sign posted and great walking. The walk to San Fruttuoso was stunning. Martin and Marilena are great hosts and have good local knowledge - they want you to enjoy your time here and generously share their piece of paradise! We hope to return to complete more of the trails. We recommend at least 3 nights here and wish we had booked more.
