Summary: Massive disappointment - overall a tired and well worn hotel with major problems. (1) Most disturbingly, the resort is located downwind from some properties that were burning. On 3 days (the days when it wasn't raining), there was a crazy amount of smoke from 3 different fires, over the whole resort. It started before 6am, and stayed until after 3pm. It was so bad - I was sneezing, eyes watering, nose watering. Miserable suffering. (2) The resort advertises a "Kids Club" which was just an empty room with a TV but no toys or facilities, and although we booked here because babysitting was available, we didn't use it because there was just nothing to do in the empty room other than TV. They were painting nearby and we didn't want our toddler breathing in those fumes. (3) In the gym, the exercise bike didn't work, leaving only the treadmill (which needed maintenance) and elliptical machine. (4) The dinner was poor and a real rip off. Kung Pow chicken was more like sweet and sour - rice always soggy. For the price charged - just awful. There's far better food at a food court in Australia. (5) Tour guide (as recommended by the hotel) was not a tour guide at all - he behaved like a taxi driver, not even bothering to tell us about the locations. Rip off - AUD $250 for a half day tour. We booked 2 tours in advance - got tricked. All up, I'm never going to stay here again.
