4 Bedroom Cottage in Lake Oconee, Greensboro
Bedrooms: 4; Bathrooms: 4; Guests: 11
Waterview Retreat at Marina Cove hosted by St James Vacation Homes
The prestigious gated community of Reynolds Lake Oconee is renowned for its easy-going sophistication and timeless panoramas of Georgia's second largest lake. Waterview Retreat at Marina Cove continues the tradition of its surrounding community and offers guests a lakeside retreat with multiple deepwater views, walkable marina access, and laidback luxury found within its spacious two levels. This 4-bedroom, 4-bath gem rolls out the red carpet with a newly renovated interior, thoughtful amenities, high ceilings, and lake views from almost every window.
Entering the front door on the Main Level, guests are welcomed by a shiplap entryway and hardwood open floor plan that allows for plenty of natural sunlight to stream in from the glass door adjacent to the front deck. The kitchen is well-stocked with ample cook-ware and serving-ware, and it comes equipped with marble countertops, adjacent pantry, and stainless-steel appliances (microwave, oven with smooth-top stove, side-by-side refrigerator/freezer, dishwasher, and Keurig coffee maker with single-serve or carafe option). From home-cooked to take-out, meals can be enjoyed at the dining table for six (with two extra chairs to expand to eight). For al fresco dining with coveted views, there's an additional bar-height table with seating for four on the spacious back patio. A three-burner Weber propane grill is located on the Lower Level veranda, and the lake views are just as stunning for anyone on BBQ duty. The living area beckons the weary with two leather sofas, a recliner with electric footrest, two armchairs, and a wall-mounted Sony flatscreen TV. From here, enjoy popular cable TV channels, stream your favorite shows or gaze out the sliding door for views that never disappoint.
The Main Level also hosts two of four bedrooms. The front guest room sleeps two in a plush queen sleigh bed, and there's a reading nook with recliner and ottoman. While closets aren't normally mentioned, this one houses a highchair, which is an often overlooked amenity! Across the hall is a full bath with marble vanity and full tub/shower. The spacious master provides private views of the lake and features a king bed, reading chairs, walk-in closet, and ensuite bath with double vanity and an oversized walk-in tiled shower.
Off the living and dining area is an access door that leads to the descending staircase. As an added safety feature, it can be closed and locked.
The Lower Level is sure to be a crowd-pleaser. With custom finishes and designer touches, it's elegant enough for adults but with all the characteristics of fun that delight younger adventurers. The family room checks multiple boxes as game headquarters (with a checkers table and available board games), movie theatre (flatscreen TV), and what could be used as a fifth bedroom (sofa sleeper with queen mattress). A sliding door leads to the veranda, where grill masters can defend their titles in front of a seated audience, or kids can choose from the float selection. (We do recommend bringing extra.)
Two generously sized bedrooms on the Lower Level offer plenty of sleeping options:
- On the other side of the family room is a spacious third bedroom that comes with a queen bed, work desk, flatscreen TV, walk-in closet and private bath with tiled step-in shower. This room connects to the twin room via a shared hallway and is the perfect answer to providing a space for kids to call their own while being close enough to adult supervision.
- The children's nook (a large bunk-room with a large dresser drawer, kitchenette, and two doors that are at opposite ends of a long wall) features three twin beds, each designated with custom artwork. Kids and teens will be thrilled that the space extends to a wet bar and refrigerator. With an additional round table that seats up to four, this is the perfect place for snacks and conversation.
While Waterview Retreat is designed to highlight the waterside views from multiple angles, guests will want to experience the 19,000 acres of Lake Oconee up close and personal. Just a short walk away is the Linger Longer Marina with boardwalk dock, lake-front walking/running trails, sandy beach, shaded pavilion with picnic tables and – ahem – well maintained restrooms.
For fun of the gastro and retail variety, dining and shopping are right outside the gates of Reynolds. Publix will fill the pantry, and within its complex are locally owned businesses including PJ's Coffee of New Orleans, The Oconee Cellar, The French Hare interiors, Aurum Jewelers, and several neighboring boutiques. A few minutes south on 44, explore Harmony Crossing, home to some of our favorite cafes, restaurants, and shops. We also recommend visiting the historic districts of downtown Eatonton and downtown Greensboro. Be sure to check out the local events, festivals, and farmer's markets, too!
