Edisto Island has a grocery store (within 3 miles), six restaurants, sandwich shops and several specialty shops. Major shopping is 1.5 hours away in Charleston.

Simply put, Edisto is a nature lover’s paradise. Here, you are free to explore the rivers, marshes, and beaches unencumbered by excess development. Boat tours and kayak rentals give you an excellent vantage point to experience the native flora and fauna of the island. Just as the ocean defines Edisto’s natural features, it also plays a large part in the area’s activities and local cuisine. Fishing is popular year-round, with many offshore and inshore trips available. In fact, you won’t find fresher seafood anywhere, with bountiful harvests of shrimp available nearly year-round.
