Positive: The location was very private and quiet. There were some unique amenities: hot tub, juke box, dock with kayaks and a pool table. There was plenty of sleeping space and the owner was very responsive.
Negative: The screened in porch had a ceiling that leaked and the owner knew it did. 2 days of our vacation it rained and it would have been nice to use that space. The furniture on the porch was very dirty. I wiped down the chairs and we used towels to sit on the furniture. We found mold in multiple locations, kitchen and main bathroom. The bathroom on the lower level had the towel bar missing and holes in the wall as well as water damage around the shower head. Had a friend stay on that floor and was very embarrassed by the condition. The mattresses in the main floor bunk room were very uncomfortable. The dishes in the kitchen were not clean. We washed everything before using. The can opener was rusted and did not work. The property did not present itself as ready for rental. I did receive a 10% refund, which was appreciated but not enough. I would not rent again or recommend.
Summary: Sad with the condition of the property, and yet we had fun.
