Positive: Property exceeded expectations. The gardens are superb and the mix of fire pit areas, highland cows, sheep and chooks adds a really special feel. The owners have clearly thought of everything, with lots of little touches going well above what you’d normally expect in a 5-star stay. Perfect for a couple, a family or even multiple couples, there is plenty of space to spread out and relax. The views were exceptional and some rain didn’t detract from our stay at all. The complimentary local produce on arrival was a great surprise and the house was extremely well stocked with all the basics, from ample cutlery and utensils to pantry staples like oil, salt, pepper and other local goodies. We’d happily return for another stay, ideally for longer next time.

Negative: The electronic lighting system is needlessly complicated. The spa is heated, but the pool is not, which seems odd given the location. There are no TVs in the bedrooms, which I would expect at this price point.

Summary: Luxury home on immaculate grounds with stunning views.
