During some times of the year sheep are present in the field immediately below the house which is interesting for young children.
The house is just 3km from Castletownbere, the largest fishing port in Ireland. Castletownbere is well served with supermarkets, restaurants, cafes and pubs and is on the famous Wild Atlantic Way.
The location is great as a base for exploring the whole Beara peninsular with the towns and villages of Allihies, Eyeries, Glengarriff and Kenmare all worth visiting in addition to Castletownbere.
