Instantly feel at home in this quintessential Classic Lake Cottage with heated pool! So close to the lake you’ll catch glimpses of it from the front porch. Bring your family and friends as there’s plenty of space with 9 beds, kids area, extra family/TV room, and amazing screened in porch in the back overlooking the lush yard, pool, & fire pit. Imagine kids in the pool, days at the beach, sunsets over the lake, grilling on the BBQ, and S’mores & laughs around the fire.
Pool is closed for the season & opens mid-April '25.
The space
Welcome to our Comfy Cottage! This is a warm, welcoming home built for easy, comfortable stays.
THE COMMON AREAS
An adorable picnic table and views of Lake Michigan welcome you as you make your way up the stairs to the front porch. Enjoy a meal or a book here, catching glimpses of the lake and hearing the soft sound of the waves. Head to the front door and feel instantly at home as you enter. The vibe is mid-century-modern meets classic lake cottage.
The main floor living area is bright with windows everywhere and an open living room that flows into the dining area and kitchen. Enjoy a movie on the new 65” smart TV, listen to a record on the retro sound system (or stream from your phone), or enjoy one of our many family board games around the table.
The kitchen comes fully stocked with everything you need to create a delicious meal together. Take advantage of the Coffee & Tea Station, Cocktail Station, and small library of classic cookbooks.
The main level has two bathrooms- one full bath with bathtub and one half bath.
Out back just off the kitchen you find a perfect three season hangout spot in the screened-in porch. There’s additional dining space here for 10 or more and Adirondack chairs for lounging. The space overlooks the back yard with it’s beautiful towering trees, artistic fire ring area, gas grill, and of course that beautiful pool!
Like all outdoor pools in the area, the pool is seasonal. THE POOL IS OPEN AND HEATED MAY 1st THROUGH OCTOBER 15th each year.
There’s more spots for lounging and playing in the bright, daylit downstairs area. In the downstairs family room you’ll find a large sofa and TV with smart box. Located opposite is the Kids Corner with play area, craft table, and lots of toys, activities, & books for little ones. There’s also a lending library for adults and tons of board games for the whole family. A second full bath with shower and the spacious, clean laundry room are located just around the corner.
THE SLEEPING AREAS
There are three bedrooms on the main floor, one on the bottom level, and one located in a detached building just steps away from the main house.
Bedroom 1 features windows all around with beautiful views of the back yard, a king size bed, chest of drawers, and closet, plus an en-suite half-bath.
Bedroom 2 has a queen size bed, large dresser, and 2 closets. The full bathroom with tub is located just next to Bedrooms 2 and 3.
Bedroom 3 also has a queen size bed, dresser, and closet. The full bathroom with tub is located just next to Bedrooms 2 and 3.
Bedroom 4 Is located downstairs and features a large day lit window, two sets of twin bunk beds (4 beds total), drawers, and closet. The large downstairs full bath is just around the corner.
Bedroom 5 – “The Treehouse”. This unique bedroom is detached from the main house, located amidst the trees above the garage. The Treehouse is on the same elevation as the main floor of the main house. The room features 6 twin beds, a desk, drawers, and ample floor space. There is an adorable and effective electronic fireplace (no flame) that heats the space in the cold months. There is not central air conditioning in this room, however, due to it being well shaded and well insulated and having a ceiling fan and many opening screened windows, the room stays cool and comfortable all summer long. The nearest bathroom is located just a few steps away in the main house.
The Village of Michiana requires all guests to fill out and sign two brief forms before staying at any rental in the village. We have made this as easy as possible for our guests! After your confirmation we will send you a link where you can instantly e-sign the forms online.
Guest access
You have full access to the entire property, including the front and back yards and the detached garage. Exceptions are a locked owner's closet and the workshop in the basement. Also, currently one of the garage spaces is being used for storage and one is available to park a vehicle.
Other things to note
Our place is very family friendly with toys and a play area for younger kids and lots of board games, books, and outdoor space for kids & adults of all ages. And if you have little ones, we also have a high chair and Pack n' Play available for your use.
