5 Bedroom House in Tourdun
Beautifully restored old farmhouse in a splendid hilltop position just outside Marciac with stunning countryside and mountain views. Marciac is a thriving market town with shops, restaurants and of course the site of the famous annual Marciac Jazz Festival plus all year round classical concerts in its purpose built concert hall. The house was built in 1791 with a wealth of original features and has been restored to offer extremely comfortable accommodation and modern bathrooms. All the rooms, especially the bedrooms( all have mosquito nets) are very spacious with beautiful views. There is central heating throughout as well as wood burners in the lounge and kitchen making the property cosy in the winter and the shutters and thick stone wall keeping the house cool in the summer. There are several outside terraces plus a huge outside dining/living barn offering shade on hot summer days or shelter in the spring/autumn. The recently installed large pool with loungers(12x6m) has stunning views and is surrounded by lavender and olive trees next to a pool house with WC. The property is totally private but only a 2min drive, or 20minute walk through glorious countryside from Marciac. There are many lovely walks straight from the property as well as many market towns within easy reach. A trip to the sea near Biarritz or the mountain resorts of the Pyrenees would take approx 1.5 hours and is easily done .
