Positive: The property is small, but doesn't feel remotely cramped thanks to the clever design. The shower room is beautifully fitted out and feels spacious, the bedroom is well screened from the rest of the property and has a very comfortable bed, the sitting area is small but perfectly adequate. The kitchen area is compact but well equipped - perhaps not ideal for cooking a complex meal, but why would you want to when there are so many excellent and very modestly priced restaurants? There is also a large terrace, and a lovely pool on site. Rosa, the hostess, is simply wonderful! Every morning she visited us with a basket laden with breakfast supplies - bread, butter, homemade jams, cheese, ham, fruit juices, cake, eggs from her own chickens, tea and coffee. Far more than we could possibly eat, and always delivered with a smile. The location is ideal for visiting Marvao (5 minutes by car or a stiff 20 minute walk), Castelo de Vide and the Serra de São Mamede Natural Park. However, we also ventured further afield to Evora, Estremoz, Elvas and Vila Vicosa amongst others, all under 2 hours away on very quiet roads.
