Positive: Location is excellent, the place was clean and we were able to cook with the utensils and utilities provided. When we called, having issues with the PIN we had been provided for the keys, the agent was very quick in returning our call and was extremely pleasant in helping us out. It appears that this confusion was created by a lack of communication between Booking.com and the agent managing the property, with them both supplying a different PIN. The dishwasher worked well, and there were basic tea / coffee / dishwasher tablets / washing up needs supplied.
Negative: The toilet seat is loose, and moves around when being used. We had ornaments falling off the walls, we received no less than 4 e-mails with a PIN number that didn't work, ringing on arrival to find that a different PIN had been sent less than an hour prior to check in. The shared laundry was in no state to be used, with various obstructions preventing access to the laundry tub, and chemicals stored in the laundry - including liquid HCl hydro chloric acid, but there is no pool on the premises. I would suggest that this is not a safe or compliant storage for chemicals. The main door was stiff and using the key initially was extremely difficult. I was able to use some olive oil to free up the mechanical side of the lock that appeared to help for the period of our stay. There are not enough GPO outlets to supply the lights and furniture already present in the unit (we found them unplugged), particularly in the main bedroom , let alone any extra requirements that we might have like hearing aid and phone chargers. A battery vacuum was left lying on the floor, but no charging facility was evident. The vacuum cleaner was left so clogged with material that we needed to empty it ourselves (and clean it out) to have any chance of using it for its intended purpose. Rain inevitably resulted in a pool of water under the front door, there being no seal under the door. The down pipes and storm water on the south/western side of the facility are blocked, creating a gurgling / glugging noise consistently when it is raining, in our stay more than half of each night. The price we paid, admittedly at peak season between Easter and Anzac day, would have allowed us to stay in 5 star hotel in Circular Quay (and we have stayed in Circular Quay in the last 3 years). Whilst a very pleasant and very different experience, this destination has all the fundamentals sorted, but needs some serious attention to justify the > $400 per night we paid.
Summary: Enjoyable, with noted opportunities for improvement.
