Positive: The gardens are lovely, and the staff was warm and hospitable throughout my stay. My Victorian room was quaint and authentic.

Negative: I found the breakfast and tea offerings quite mediocre. My Victorian room though quaint and authentic, was not so comfortable. The old bedstead creaked with every move and the dainty lace curtains and thin blinds did not keep out the daylight. The old clawfoot bathtub was worn down to the cast-iron and was difficult to maneuver in and out of. I rate it a 10 for vintage charm, but more like a five for contemporary comfort. I also did not appreciate the $65 amenities charge! For what? Wi-Fi or the so-called included breakfast?

Summary: Vintage charm in a lovely garden setting but lacking in modern comfort for the price.
