With an outdoor heated pool, two car garage, elevator, beautiful hand-scraped Hickory hardwood floors, video doorbell greeting system, Starlink satellite internet and so very much more, Chez Shells is waiting to be your home away from home for a month or longer.
Chez Shells sits one lot back from the Gulf, on the most sought-after section of West Gulf Drive, which is limited to local traffic only. It is 70 yards from the Residential Beach Access #2.
Its premier location is perfect for those that appreciate being on one of the widest and least inhabited beaches on the Gulf, where privacy and bird watching is paired with incredible shelling, fishing and exploring the sugar sand and more remote stretches of beach that have made Sanibel famous.
The house is airy, light-filled and beautifully appointed. It features a Primary suite, adjacent private office, two guest bedrooms, 2.5 baths, a great room, a dining area, screened in porch, an open and fully-equipped kitchen, an outdoor heated and screened in pool, two car garage, easy access laundry, glass elevator, hardwood floors, plantation shutters, walk-in closets, an outdoor gas grill, a video doorbell and an extensive reading and DVD library.
The great room is the heart of the house, with a vaulted ceiling and sliding glass doors that open across the whole back of the house to a screened-in deck that overlooks the pool and landscaped area behind. This main room is filled with natural light, and custom designed up-lighting. With its crisp coastal decor, the living area can seat 8, with a comfortable sofa and overstuffed club chairs. A flat panel streaming tv is mounted above the decorative fireplace.
There is also a game table waiting for chess, cards, board games, or jigsaw puzzles. The open floor plan of this room adapts from easily entertaining family and friends, to settling in with cocktails, a good book, or a movie.
The kitchen features quartz countertops and custom cabinetry with roll out drawers, containing all the serving platters and tableware you would need to for entertaining. There are stainless steel appliances, including double ovens, large refrigerator/freezer, and electric cooktop with a downdraft ventilation system. The oversized island makes meal prep a breeze. The dining table seats 6 comfortably, with additional seating available at the large kitchen island or outside for 4 on the adjacent porch.
Just around the corner from the kitchen is a convenient half-bath and laundry room with a high efficiency front load washer dryer and broom closet.
The Primary bedroom has beautiful linens and pillows adorning the king sized bed. Lined drapery and Plantation shutters allow control for the desired amount of light and breeze. The triple sliding glass door panels open to a separate porch overlooking the screened pool.
A walk in closet provide plenty of storage space, while the Primary bath features dual vanities with his/her drawer space, a large walk-in shower with inlaid glass tile, triple showerheads (hand held and fixed), a well-stocked linen closet, and a separate WC.
There is a private home office/den with generous built-in cabinetry, along with a twin sleeper sofa and access to a deck overlooking the front garden. It is separate from the rest of the house, and affords privacy and quiet for those days that a conference call or working away from home is a must.
The two guest bedrooms are located just beyond the elevator and main staircase. The queen bedroom is calm and lovely with a walk-in closet and private Juliet balcony, affording a perfect spot for a morning coffee, meditation or remote work spot.
The cheerful and crisp twin guest bedroom is inviting and filled with natural light, and it features its own walk-in closet.
The guest bedrooms share the nearby bath that features a glass wall shower, a single vanity and linen closet.
The ground level entry features a glass-walled staircase and roomy elevator, perfect for transporting luggage, groceries and for those who prefer a lift. In the downstairs area you'll find a storage space, and workshop. It also provides changing space and access to the outdoor heated pool, where there is a seating area for relaxing, and a table for al fresco dining.
