Summary: We thoroughly enjoyed our first visit to Paris due in no small part to this flat! It was cozy, intimate, had a great view (see photos), and was in an excellent location. Close to two metro stops (Bastille and Voltaire), we navigated both the local arrondissement and the wide city of Paris with ease. Although we took advantage of the cuisine on offer at the many local cafés and bistros, the breakfasts and occasional dinners we prepared at home were tasty and easy thanks to the well-equipped yet compact kitchen and the plethora of food vendors in a 10 minute walk radius (can’t recommend Saveurs et vous at 112 r. de la roquette enough for some excellent French cheese!). The bathroom was very clean, recently updated, with a large glass shower and a washing machine! Despite the bed being a pull-out couch, we slept comfortably and deeply. Our sleep wasn’t disturbed by neighbours within or outside the building, regardless of how lively this quartier can be! Last but not least, our host Dominique was a pleasure to meet and was exceedingly accommodating — allowing us to check in early and taking the time to explain the finer details of the flat and building to us in person. She even recommended local eateries and we chatted about art and the current special exhibitions at museums in town. We’re already planning our next visit!
